The right colors bring energy into this painting of a horse with an itch to scratch; for me it was the itch to create! Though small, this vibrant equine really stands out.

Background information and artist inspiration for the painting:
This painting is one from my Golden Horses Series. It is of a beautiful golden palomino dun Paso Fino mare named Goldie who had foundered, I’d never dealt with this very painful hoof condition before, and seeing this mare hurting just upset me so much. I put my fear, upset, pain and empathy for her on canvas. Thankfully, she totally recovered!

Background information and artist inspiration for the painting:
The inspiration on this painting was pretty acute- there were issues going on revolving around my husband’s health problems, and the never-ending red tape we dealt with that caused so much stress, anxiety and let’s face it–tension. It’s like the heat is always on just high enough where you can’t stand still with both feet on the ground, you have to shift or jump up to get away from it. Tremendous energy in this painting.
