IMPORTANT MONTHLY DONATION UPDATE JULY 5, 2016
I sent our Bolero Members’ monthly donation to BAIL – Before All Is Lost – Saving Horses Destined for Slaughter. BAIL is saving horses at auction BEFORE they are purchased by Kill Buyers. These folks went to auctions and saved 3 registered, gaited horses during the last two weeks!
Our Bolero members raised $237.72, which you can see a screenshot of the Paypal donation below, along with a screenshot of the post from Wendy Thompson that includes photos of the gaited mare that they saved on Sunday.
From Wendy Thomson who works with BAIL:

Bolero Rescue Warriors!!! I wanted you to be the first to know that your generous donation saved another registered gaited horse last night!!! Thank you! BAIL is headed back this morning to save as many more as they can – thank you for joining the rescue ride to intercept auction horses and get them safely OUT of the slaughter pipeline forever more by sending them to real deal rescues who will remain their guardian angels!

For all of our new Bolero Gaited Horse Adoption Network members:
Some of our members have joined together and are supporting the horse rescues that we work with. Think of this: If each member donated just $1.00 a month, that’s 1 QUARTER A WEEK, we could provide close to $2,000.00 EVERY MONTH to horse rescues!
That would be a heck of a lot towards much needed, feed, hay, vet care, fencing–whatever! If each of us gave just a little, we can use the power of our membership numbers to help rescues help horses! To sign up to donate, please go to the following link:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are signed up for monthly donations, and you are NOT in our private group to discuss where to send them, please Friend me: https://www.facebook.com/tracy.stevens.779642 and then Private Message me right away so that I can add you to The Bolero Horse Adoption Network Donation Group.
We ARE saving horses through networking, education and our donations every day! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!
Sincerely,
Tracy Stevens

IMPORTANT MONTHLY DONATION UPDATE MAY 9, 2016
Thanks to everyone who signed up for our Bolero Monthly Horse Rescue Subscription Donation. April’s donations went to help Debbie Robertson Stewart with the huge bill at Outlaw Equine Hospital for the mare and foal Elly and Noel. The final donation from our members less Paypal fees totaled $193.91. See the screenshot in the comments below.
If you would like to sign up to help us help the horse rescues that we work with, please see the link below.
POWER IN NUMBERS, think of this: If every one of our Bolero members gave only $1.00 per month, one QUARTER A WEEK, that would be nearly $1,800 that we could send to the rescues we work with! That kind of money could help in a HUGE WAY, buying hay, medical costs, travel, outbidding KBs at auction!!!
Please consider donating even a small amount if you can. Every penny counts:
Description on the Bolero Gaited Horse Adoption Network Facebook Group:
I just wanted to write the members of our new group, the Bolero Gaited Horse Adoption Network, that I am so happy that many of you were the ones who spread the news about Bolero and called wanting him.
This group was formed during Bolero’s rescue, and I believe that together we can help spread the word about gaited horses who are in rescues, being sold for less than the per lb rate for slaughter in ads on Facebook, horse websites or Craigslist, or are already in kill lots and heading for slaughter.
Please feel free to post gaited horses that you know of, or have seen online, that fit the criteria above. Include everything that is listed about the horse you find, along with a link to the website or Facebook page where the horse is listed, and the contact information of the people or the rescue who are involved with the horse.
It would help our members when a horse is adopted or saved for the the original person who posted the horse to edit her or his post with ADOPTED or SAVED at the beginning of their description of the horse, so that everyone will know. That way, we will not be networking horses that are already placed or safe.
Also, there is a file in the Files area of our group called: 3 Reasons Healthy, Sane Horses End Up Going to Slaughter. I have already found that a lot of people have no idea that good, healthy horses are the ones who are being sold for slaughter.
There is also a document that can be used to contact current owners who post ads online or in newspapers, and are giving their horses away, (free to good home) or who are selling them below the per lb slaughter rate, (around $1.00 per lb):

Please feel free to post any other ideas you may have on how to network these horses, and share our group with your friends and other groups you are a member of:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/bolerogaitedhorseadoptionnetwork/
Everything we do counts towards saving good horses from horrifying deaths, and the more people we have in our group, the more networking we all can do.
And always remember:
“You can’t change the world by saving one horse….
But you can change the world for that one horse!”
